short verse poetry

Sunflowers

men crave the light
so much pride, sinews stretched
in puffed out blouse
bedecked in resplendent refinery

Sunflowers in the field
carefully attended
by the toil and mud-stained hands of men
kneeling on bended knee

the sun shines on us all
yet still so many fail to see…
