I know what you mean. For me it's not solely solitude though, it's often more about a change of 'scenery' a change of 'habits'. Eg, I went on 'holiday' recently and on return I posted this message to a facebook group I'm in:

"You know, the great thing about taking some time off is it really does recharge your batteries. Couple of weeks away and I feel more defiant than ever. We need to keep our minds open and our kids minds too. Simple message, eat well, stay strong and have fun (relax) and you can face anything. Don't succumb to fear, to division, to anger, to hurt. Be strong, have heart."
